Impossible Meeting

One morning, Kitaro lazily wakes up from his sleep, hoping that today would be a peaceful day, trouble-free from anymore spontaneous attacks upon the Youkai race.  When he climbs down to his Youkai Mailbox, he suddenly notices a strange object that appears to be some sort of portal.  Not sure whether he is seeing an illusion or not, Kitaro rubs his eye to get a more clear vision.  What stood before him was a portal.  Who did this, or better yet, why here?  Before departing from this odd situation, someone comes through the mass of time and space.
